Keeping nature preserves natural takes stewardship, constant vigilance and caring people like you.

Here's what we're doing together for places

where people and nature meet.

WPC volunteers and staff show the massive amount of clean up they accomplished on a workday at Toms Run Nature Reserve.

Removing all traces

Dedicated volunteers, WPC staff and sometimes hired professionals with heavy equipment safely clear the land of heavy trash and past land use.

Helping it heal

We work to keep at bay the invasive plants, shrubs and trees — species that are crowding out those that would normally thrive there naturally.

Inviting Everyone

Along with welcoming wildlife, we make accessible these preserves where people and nature meet. Our staff and volunteers build and maintain hiking trails on WPC managed land, making sure they are well marked and signs are posted so hikers can find their way.
